Bill Gates will face questioning from the House Oversight Committee regarding his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, the financier who died in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.
Gates appears thousands of times across messages and photographs contained in Justice Department files related to Epstein's case. The Microsoft founder has acknowledged meeting Epstein on multiple occasions but denied any awareness of the crimes for which Epstein was convicted.
The appearance before the House committee marks a significant moment in the ongoing scrutiny of Epstein's associates. Federal investigators compiled extensive records documenting Epstein's network of contacts over several decades.
NBC News correspondent Hallie Jackson reported the details of Gates' upcoming testimony for the TODAY show.
