FLINT, Mich. — Former President Donald Trump recently visited a General Motors facility in Michigan, where he spoke about his administration's economic policies and the role of tariffs. Trump stated his belief that these policies contributed to the revival of the auto industry and American manufacturing. During his remarks, Trump discussed the imposition of tariffs on goods from Canada and other international partners. He maintained that these trade measures supported domestic industries. His comments occurred within a context where some businesses, particularly in Michigan, have expressed concerns. These businesses contend that the tariffs have negatively impacted their operations and the state's economy.
