GNTC Gets 500 Safety Equipment Items From Wisconsin Company
Georgia Northwestern Technical College received nearly 500 pieces of personal protective equipment from J. J. Keller & Associates Inc., a Wisconsin-based safety and regulatory compliance company.
The donation includes high-visibility clothing, gaiters, gloves, jackets, masks, suspenders and vests. GNTC will distribute the equipment to students in Commercial Truck Driving, Electrical Lineworker, and Welding and Joining Technology programs.
"Our ultimate goal at J. J. Keller is to keep people safe in the workplace," said Joel Clark, director of product management at J. J. Keller. "If we can help GNTC's students stay safe during their classes and they carry those safe practices to their jobs in the real world, we find that extremely rewarding."
Patty Hart, vice president of Economic Development at GNTC, said the college appreciates the donation. This marks the second gift from J. J. Keller; the company donated 32 copies of its Entry-Level Driver Training manual to GNTC's Commercial Truck Driving program last year.
GNTC enrolled 9,342 credit students over the past year and served an additional 4,740 people through adult education, continuing education and business training programs.
