GNTC Graduates 230 Students Across Nine Counties

Georgia Northwestern Technical College held two spring commencement ceremonies May 7 at the Forum River Center in Rome, conferring degrees on 230 graduates from its nine-county service area.
The noon ceremony recognized graduates from business, cyber technology, nursing, and health technology programs. The 4 p.m. ceremony honored graduates from industrial and public service programs.
The graduating class averaged 25 years old, with ages ranging from 17 to 67. Fifty-eight percent were first-generation college students. Sixty-eight graduates completed dual enrollment programs, with three earning associate degrees before high school graduation.
Noelia Sargento, GNTC's 2026 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership winner, delivered the keynote address. Sargento won GNTC's 2025 EAGLE award and became the Technical College System of Georgia's 2025 Adult Education Student of the Year.
The graduates came from eight of GNTC's nine service-area counties, plus eight additional Georgia counties and Tennessee. They earned 256 awards total.
