GNTC Spring Commencement Ceremonies May 7 in Rome
Georgia Northwestern Technical College will hold two Spring Commencement ceremonies May 7 at the Forum River Center in Rome.
The noon ceremony honors graduates from Business, Cyber Technology, Nursing and Health Technology programs. The 4 p.m. ceremony recognizes Industrial and Public Service program graduates.
Noelia Sargento of Rossville delivers the keynote address at both ceremonies. Sargento won GNTC's 2026 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership and earned the Technical College of Georgia's 2025 Adult Education Student of the Year for Georgia.
Dr. Heidi Popham, GNTC president, will confer degrees, diplomas and certificates. Mark Upton, program director of Marketing Management, leads the noon invocation. Donny Holmes, program director of Construction Management, leads the 4 p.m. invocation.
Stuart Phillips, vice president of Student Affairs and Student Success, introduces Sargento. Legare Price, associate vice president of Student Success, recognizes High Honor and Honor graduates, veterans, FBLA Collegiate members, National Technical Honor Society members, SkillsUSA members, Student Government Association members and Dual Enrollment graduates.
