Norman Butler, Oxford Scholar & Polo Player, Dies at 92

Norman Butler, a polo player and Oxford University alumnus, died Oct. 8, 2011. He was 92.

Born Dec. 2, 1918, in Manhattan, Butler was raised in England, France and Italy. He attended Hodder Place, Downside School and Stonyhurst College in Lancashire, England, before studying Modern Greats at Oriel College, Oxford.

Butler played polo at the Guards Polo Club in 1958.
