Riverview's USF Secures 8th Consecutive Year in Top 50 Public Universities, Ranking No. 46

The University of South Florida (USF) has once again earned a spot among the nation's top 50 public universities, marking its eighth consecutive year in this elite group. U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges rankings, released yesterday, place USF at No. 46 among all public universities. This consistent national recognition highlights USF's ongoing academic excellence and growing reputation.

This achievement matters to Riverview residents because USF's continued rise in national rankings enhances the value of degrees for local students and strengthens the region's academic profile. A highly-ranked university nearby attracts talent, fosters innovation, and contributes to the local economy through research and community engagement.

Beyond its public university standing, USF also ranked No. 100 among all public or private universities across the country. This marks the fifth straight year USF has ranked among the top 100 universities overall. The university also received high marks in specific categories, including No. 19 for social mobility, No. 25 for innovation, and No. 25 for "best value for in-state students" among public universities. Additionally, USF ranked No. 28 for overall "best value" and No. 46 for best colleges for veterans among public universities.

The latest rankings coincide with USF welcoming its most academically accomplished incoming class in history. This year's new students arrived with record-high averages for high school GPA and SAT scores. The incoming class also includes a record number of National Merit Scholars, further bolstering the university's academic profile and contributing to its upward trajectory.

As USF continues to attract top talent and maintain its high academic standards, the university will likely continue to feature prominently in future national rankings. Riverview residents can anticipate ongoing benefits from the presence of a consistently top-ranked institution in the region.
