Robert Kelker-Kelly, an actor known for his roles on soap operas including "Days of Our Lives" and "General Hospital," died at 62. St. Peters Police in St. Peters, Missouri, responded to a call Oct. 3 about an unconscious man who was not breathing. Authorities said Kelker-Kelly had reported chest pain before losing consciousness. A cause of death has not been released.
Born in Wichita, Kansas, in 1964, Kelker-Kelly began his acting career in 1987 on "Another World" as Sam Fowler. He returned to the show in 1996 as Dr. Shane Roberts, also known as Bobby Reno, appearing in more than 400 episodes across both roles.
From 1992 to 1995, Kelker-Kelly played Bo Brady on "Days of Our Lives." Co-star Lisa Rinna wrote in her memoir that they "hated each other" off-screen despite their on-screen chemistry, describing him as "verbally abusive, passive-aggressive, manipulative and played weird mind games." Kelker-Kelly did not publicly comment on the allegations.
Kelker-Kelly and Rinna won the Hottest Soap Couple award at the Soap Opera Digest Awards in 1995, the same year they left "Days of Our Lives." He later joined "Port Charles" and "General Hospital," playing Stavros Cassadine from 1997 to 2003 and again from 2013 to 2014, his final credited role.
Kelker-Kelly married Miriam Parrish in 1997 and moved away from acting and Los Angeles. They divorced in 2013. He was previously married to Linda Rattner until 1992. He also held an airframe and powerplant mechanics certification, worked as an acting teacher, and was a professional pilot.
