Polk County School Bus Crash Kills Two

A 10th-grader and another individual died Monday morning in a collision on Lucerne Park Road involving a Polk County school bus. The crash occurred when a Chevrolet Malibu reportedly crossed the center line, striking the school bus and pushing it into a head-on collision with a Jeep.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the fatalities. The identity of the second deceased individual, who was in the Jeep, has not yet been released.

Emergency services responded to the scene. The Sheriff’s Office did not provide details regarding the number of students on the bus or any other injuries.

The incident disrupted morning traffic on Lucerne Park Road as authorities investigated and cleared the scene.
