Randi M. Zimmerman, general manager of WMNF 88.5FM, announced her retirement this week. Zimmerman, who has led the community radio station since 1998, shared her decision in a message published Oct. 3, 2026.
In her farewell, Zimmerman expressed gratitude for her tenure, blending her passion for the station's mission with her hands-on approach. She hosted Monday morning "mix-tapes" in September, connecting with listeners during their commutes.
The WMNF board of directors is searching for Zimmerman's successor and has identified three candidates. Zimmerman committed to ensuring a smooth transition, offering support to the incoming general manager.
Zimmerman stated she will remain in the Riverview community. Her final message included quotes from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" and the band Simple Minds, reflecting on life's pace and the importance of connection.
