Riverview residents should check their pantries for recalled Gatorade products. PepsiCo has voluntarily recalled more than 122,000 cases of 28-ounce bottles nationwide due to undeclared Yellow No. 5 and/or Yellow No. 6 food dyes.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) classified this as a Class II recall. This indicates that exposure could lead to temporary or reversible health effects, with a minimal risk of serious health consequences.
Affected products include 28-ounce bottles of Gatorade Lemon Lime, Gatorade Lemon Lime Zero, Gatorade Orange, and Gatorade Orange Zero. The recall covers 15 lot codes with best-by dates from April through June 2027. Consumers across Florida and 36 other states should examine bottle lot codes before drinking.
Consumers can find affected lot numbers by searching for "Gatorade" on the FDA Enforcement Report. The FDA advises consumers to follow recall instructions, which may include returning the product to the place of purchase or disposing of it properly.
Individuals experiencing allergic reactions or adverse health effects after consuming a recalled product should seek medical attention. For recall questions, contact Gatorade customer service at 1-888-794-2867, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time.
