Wind Advisory Issued: Gusts Up To 45 MPH Expected Until 5 PM
A Wind Advisory is in effect until 5 PM MST/PDT for parts of Arizona and California, with gusts up to 45 MPH expected, impacting driving conditions.
Residents in Parker Valley, Kofa, Yuma, Central La Paz, Southeast Yuma County, Gila River Valley, Joshua Tree National Park (West and East), Imperial County (Southwest, Southeast, West, and Imperial Valley), Salton Sea, Chuckwalla Mountains, Chiriaco Summit, Palo Verde Valley, and Chuckwalla Valley should prepare for strong winds this afternoon. The National Weather Service (NWS) Phoenix AZ has issued a Wind Advisory, effective until 5:00 PM MST / 5:00 PM PDT today, October 11, 2026.
Southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph are expected, with gusts potentially reaching 40 to 45 mph. These conditions can make driving difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles, and light, unsecured objects may become airborne. The NWS advises extra caution when driving in affected areas, as strong winds over desert areas could also reduce visibility due to blowing dust or sand.
