Riverside Mourns Passing of Former Firefighter Ralph Sutton

RALPH SUTTON RALPH SUTTON, 78, of Riverside, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2023. He was born in Riverside on September 15, 1944, to the late John and Mary Sutton. Ralph was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving with honor during the Vietnam War. After his service, he returned to Riverside and worked as a dedicated firefighter for the Riverside Fire Department for over 30 years. He was known for his bravery, quick thinking, and unwavering commitment to protecting the community. Beyond his professional life, Ralph was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was a devoted husband to his late wife, Eleanor, and a loving father and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Ralph is survived by his daughter, Sarah (Michael) Johnson; his son, David (Emily) Sutton; his grandchildren, Emily, Jessica, and Daniel; and his sister, Elizabeth Miller. Services will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Grimes-Akes Family Funeral Home, located at 1350 E. Washington St., Riverside, CA 92507. A reception will follow at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Riverside Firefighters Benevolent Fund in Ralph's memory.
