Louisiana Man Kills Eight Children, Injures Two Women Before Officer-Involved Shooting

Shreveport, Louisiana — Authorities reported a man fatally shot eight children inside a residence on Thursday. Seven of the children were identified as his own. The man also shot two women whom police believe to be his wife and girlfriend. Both women survived.

Following the shooting, the suspect fled in a stolen vehicle, leading police on a chase. The pursuit ended with an exchange of gunfire between the suspect and law enforcement. Officers fatally wounded the man, according to officials.

The investigation remains ongoing. Authorities have yet to release the names of the victims or the suspect.
