Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Rio Blanco County Until 6:30 PM MDT

Residents in north central Rio Blanco County are advised to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building immediately due to a Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Grand Junction CO. The warning is in effect until 6:30 PM MDT today, September 19, 2026.

At 6:15 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 13 miles east of Rangely, moving northeast at 15 mph. The NWS reports hazards include 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail. This information is based on radar indications.
