Richmond Gets $2 Million to Expand Industrial Park

Richmond will develop 190 acres of new industrial property after receiving a $2 million grant from the Kentucky Product Development Initiative, Governor Andy Beshear announced July 31, 2025.

The Richmond Industrial Development Corporation will build on the expansion site using existing roads and utilities from the adjacent industrial park, allowing faster development. This marks the third KPDI award Richmond has received.

The project serves a 13-county commuting area, according to RIDC President John McPhearson. City Manager Rob Minerich said Duncannon Lane offers strategic advantages for industrial growth, with utility infrastructure already in place between Berea Road and the airport.

Mayor Robert Blythe said the grant reflects the city's partnership with the state on economic development.
