Richmond Hires Grants and Marketing Specialist for Industrial Development

Richmond hired Stephanie Nelson as its Industrial Economic Development Grants and Marketing Specialist in August 2025. The position supports recruitment efforts for nearly one million square feet of build-ready industrial property in the Richmond Industrial Park.

Nelson brings 10 years of nonprofit experience, including four years as a developer relations specialist with the Kentucky Association for Economic Developers. She previously served as Central Kentucky Field Representative for U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, covering 19 counties. She holds a bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Kentucky State University.

City Manager Rob Minerich said Nelson's grant procurement knowledge and networking experience will strengthen the city's economic development efforts. RIDC Executive Director David Stipes noted the city has experienced increased information requests from potential businesses.

Richmond ranks as the second fastest-growing city in Kentucky.
