Gibson Bay Golf Course Gets New Irrigation System
Gibson Bay Golf Course in Richmond began installing a new irrigation system in early March to replace deteriorating infrastructure that had reduced water efficiency.
The course expects the project to last through May. The driving range and short course are operational, but the main course faces temporary hole closures during installation.
The new system uses high-density polyethylene pipe designed to last 50 years. Modern sprinklers will improve water coverage, and a two-wire electronic control system will let the grounds crew monitor playing conditions more precisely.
Golfers should call the pro shop at 859-623-0225 for updates on course conditions. The course has temporarily closed online bookings.
