Drive Safely: Patchy Dense Fog Expected Across Central and North-Central Wisconsin

Drivers in central and north-central Wisconsin should be prepared for patchy dense fog this morning, Sunday, September 24, 2026. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Green Bay has issued a Special Weather Statement advising of locally dense fog with visibilities as low as 1/4 mile or less.

This advisory is in effect until 9:00 AM CDT today. Areas affected include Vilas, Oneida, Forest, Florence, Northern Marinette County, Lincoln, Langlade, Menominee, Northern Oconto County, Marathon, Shawano, Wood, Portage, and Waupaca counties.

If you are traveling this morning, be alert for rapidly changing visibilities. The NWS recommends slowing down and using your low beam headlights if you encounter dense fog. Prioritize safety on the roads.
