TMCC Graduates 1,449 Students in Reno May Ceremony

Truckee Meadows Community College will graduate 1,449 students on Friday, May 22, at Lawlor Events Center. Graduates earned 1,535 degrees and certificates across more than 70 programs: 61 bachelor's degrees, 1,210 associate degrees and 264 certificates of achievement.
The Class of 2026 ranges from age 16 to 76. Three 16-year-olds earned associate degrees. The oldest graduate, 76, received an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Paralegal. Dual-enrolled high school students account for 75 degrees: 31 from ACE High School and 44 from TMCC High School.
The ceremony will recognize 227 Nevada Promise Scholars, 18 international students from 11 countries, seven student-athletes and 106 veteran students.
Wendy Solorio Ramirez receives the Sam Lieberman Regents' Award for Student Scholarship. She earned an Associate of Science Degree in Construction Management with Magna Cum Laude honors and continues pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Logistics Operations Management. Solorio Ramirez served as a Student Government Association senator and helped found La Raza, a student organization promoting Latinx and Hispanic culture.
TMCC honors Sophie Moeller as the 2026 Alumna of the Year. Moeller graduated in 2022 with an Associate of Arts Degree and joined Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She now serves as Development Director for Achieve Tahoe and founded a Reno support group for stepparents and blended families.
The college will celebrate the first graduating cohorts from several new academic programs during the ceremony.
