Home » Events » Summer Band Concert 2026 Wednesday, June 10, 2026 7:00 p.m. Hammerschmidt Memorial Chapel Contact Information Department of Music music@elmhurst.edu The Elmhurst University Summer Band will be presenting two concerts in Hammerschmidt Memorial Chapel on the Elmhurst University campus on June 10 and June 24, both at 7:00 pm. In honor of America 250 both concerts will be a celebration of Americana featuring patriotic music, music by American composers, and American favorites from Broadway to Hollywood. The first concert, “American Pageant” is slated for Wednesday, June 10. Dr. James Hile, Professor John Heath, Professor Bryan Miller and Professor Emeritus Judy Grimes will be featured will serve as conductors. The concert will feature the Elmhurst University Faculty Brass Quintet in a special arrangement of Leroy Anderson’s “Bugler’s Holiday.” Professor of Voice AnDrea James will be featured as the vocal soloist for George Gershwin’s “Summertime” from Porgy and Bess. Broadway showstoppers and a special arrangement of John Williams’ “Tribute to Film Composers” are on the program along with traditional American patriotic music.
