These funds will be used to install a new kayak/canoe launch at the Northwest Nature Preserve, located at 1600 Banks Road. The project aims to improve recreational experiences for residents and visitors by providing easy access to the preserve’s waterways, promoting outdoor activities and environmental stewardship. The kayak/canoe launch will feature an ADA-accessible design, ensuring equitable access for individuals of all abilities. “We are thrilled to receive this grant from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection,” said City Manager Cale Curtis. “This funding will enable us to enhance the Northwest Nature Preserve and provide our community with improved recreational opportunities.
