Dangerous Lake Michigan Conditions Expected Through Thursday Afternoon

Residents and visitors in Sheboygan, Ozaukee, Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha Counties are advised to stay out of Lake Michigan due to life-threatening waves and dangerous currents. The National Weather Service (NWS) Milwaukee/Sullivan WI has issued a Beach Hazards Statement, effective now until Thursday afternoon.

Waves of 3 to 6 feet are expected, along with dangerous currents, creating hazardous swimming conditions. The NWS specifically warns against entering the water and urges individuals to stay away from dangerous areas such as piers and breakwalls. Strong structural and longshore currents are anticipated, and rip currents are possible.

This Beach Hazards Statement was issued on September 22 at 11:09 PM CDT and remains in effect through Thursday afternoon.
