Putnam Valley Middle School: State Tests, Career Fair
Putnam Valley Middle School runs state assessments through mid-May, hosts a career fair May 21, and sends eighth graders to Washington D.C. May 13-15.
Fifth through eighth graders completed English Language Arts tests April 30-May 1 and mathematics assessments May 6-7. Science testing runs May 11 for eighth graders and May 12 for fifth graders. Students need charged Chromebooks, reading books, pencils, and calculators for certain grade levels.
The Career Fair takes place Thursday, May 21 from 8 a.m. to noon at Putnam Valley High School Wellness Center. Professionals will discuss career paths and answer student questions. Community members can register through a school form to participate.
Eighth graders not attending the Washington D.C. trip attend school May 13-15 on their regular schedule.
Seventh and eighth graders take final exams in June. Eighth graders in Algebra I take the Regents exam. Eighth graders in Mandarin Chinese and Spanish complete Checkpoint A exams.
The Eighth Grade Moving Up Ceremony is Wednesday, June 24 at 5 p.m. at the High School Performing Arts Center, followed by a dance at Cortlandt Colonial at 7 p.m.
Encore session six begins Monday, May 11. Families can check the school website for the calendar and daily announcements.
