Wind Advisory Issued: Gusts Up To 45 MPH Expected Today
A Wind Advisory is in effect until 9:00 PM PDT tonight for several areas, including the Idaho Palouse and Spokane Area, with southwest winds up to 45 mph expected; residents should secure loose objects and exercise caution while driving.
Residents in the Idaho Palouse, Northeast Blue Mountains, Lower Garfield and Asotin Counties, Washington Palouse, Upper Columbia Basin, Spokane Area, and Waterville Plateau should prepare for strong winds today. The National Weather Service (NWS) Spokane WA has issued a Wind Advisory, effective immediately until 9:00 PM PDT this evening, September 25.
Southwest winds are expected to reach 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph. These conditions can make driving difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Extra caution is advised when traveling.
Impacted areas include, but are not limited to, Spokane Valley, Rosalia, Coulee City, Potlatch, Wilbur, Pomeroy, Colfax, Moscow, Pullman, and Clarkston. Gusty winds may blow around unsecured objects, and there is a possibility of tree limbs being blown down and isolated power outages. Blowing dust could also reduce visibility to less than one mile in some areas.
