Wind Advisory Issued: Gusts Up To 45 MPH Expected Friday

Residents in the Idaho Palouse, Northeast Blue Mountains, Lower Garfield and Asotin Counties, Washington Palouse, Moses Lake Area, Upper Columbia Basin, and Waterville Plateau should prepare for strong winds. The National Weather Service (NWS) Spokane WA has issued a Wind Advisory, effective from 11 AM PDT Friday, September 24th, until 9 PM PDT Friday, September 25th.

Southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph are expected, with gusts potentially reaching up to 45 mph. These conditions can make driving difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles. The NWS advises using extra caution on the roads.

Unsecured objects may be blown around by the gusty winds. There is a possibility of tree limbs being blown down and isolated power outages. Blowing dust could also reduce visibility to less than one mile in affected areas. The advisory impacts communities including Anatone, Ephrata, Moscow, Pullman, and Clarkston, among others.
