Residents in the Washington Palouse, Moses Lake Area, Upper Columbia Basin, and Spokane Area should exercise caution as a Wind Advisory is in effect until 9:00 PM PDT this evening, September 25, 2026. The National Weather Service (NWS) Spokane WA issued the advisory at 6:40 PM PDT.

Southwest winds are expected to be around 20 to 30 mph, with gusts reaching up to 45 mph. The advisory specifically impacts Cheney, Moses Lake, Wilbur, Coulee City, Harrington, La Crosse, Odessa, Oakesdale, Ritzville, Uniontown, Downtown Spokane, Rosalia, Pullman, Tekoa, Grand Coulee, Ephrata, Davenport, Colfax, Spokane Valley, Airway Heights, Fairfield, Creston, Quincy, and Othello.

These strong winds may cause unsecured objects to be blown around. There is also a possibility of tree limbs being blown down and scattered power outages. The NWS advises that winds of this strength can make driving challenging, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Drivers are urged to use extra caution while on the roads.
