WNBA Warns Fever for Late Reporting of Clark's Injury
The Indiana Fever received a warning from the WNBA on Thursday for not reporting Caitlin Clark's back injury before their 90-73 victory over the Portland Fire on Wednesday. Clark was a late scratch for the game.
The Fever did not include Clark on the injury report the day before the game, despite her absence from practice. The WNBA requires teams to submit injury reports by 5 p.m. the night before a game and to update reports if a player's status changes. Indiana disclosed Clark’s injury less than two hours before tipoff.
Clark is currently listed as probable for Friday's home game against the Golden State. In four games this season, Clark is averaging 24.3 points, nine assists, five rebounds and one steal. In Sunday's win against Seattle, she recorded 21 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds in 24 minutes.
