Wildfires prompt mass evacuations, burn vast areas in Europe

Firefighting crews are working to control wildfires spreading rapidly across several European countries. These fires have necessitated the evacuation of more than 330,000 individuals from their homes in France, Spain, and Portugal.

Authorities have reported 15 deaths linked to the fires. The blazes have consumed nearly 500,000 acres of land. The extent and rapid progression of these fires are testing the capacities of emergency response systems.
