Wild Defeat Stars 6-1 in Playoff Series Opener

The Minnesota Wild defeated the Dallas Stars 6-1 in Game 1 of their playoff series. The Wild established a 4-0 lead in the first period. This marks the ninth time in 11 playoff series that Dallas has lost the opening game.

Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov scored two goals and contributed one assist for three points. Mats Zuccarello also added a goal and two assists. Goaltender Filip Gustavsson stopped 35 of 36 shots, achieving a .972 save percentage.

For the Stars, Joe Pavelski scored their lone goal. Goaltender Jake Oettinger made 21 saves on 27 shots. Minnesota now holds a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.
