Weston Brush Fire Near U.S. 27: What We Know So Far
A fire near U.S. 27 and Manatee Isles Drive in Weston prompted an emergency response early Friday, and here is what we know so far.
According to Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue, the fire was reported on private property near U.S. Highway 27 and Manatee Isles Drive around 4:30 a.m. NBC 6 South Florida described the incident as a brush fire in Weston, not a structure fire.
CBS Miami reported that parts of U.S. 27 were temporarily closed because of the fire. Later, WestonFLAlert said the brush fire was east of U.S. 27 and north of Manatee Isles Drive, and that all lanes on U.S. 27 were open. WestonFLAlert also said fire officials were monitoring and containing the fire.
The response appears to have been limited to fire crews and traffic control, based on the available reports. The public reporting provided so far does not confirm injuries, evacuations, a cause, arrests or a formal investigation status.
Dispatch records show prior structure fire incidents at the same address on May 8, May 15 and May 16, 2026.
Officials have not released additional details in the reporting provided, and the status of any investigation remains unclear.
