Wilton Manors Vacation Rental Registration Requirements
Wilton Manors officials are reminding residents and vacation rental operators that properties must register with the city and obtain a certificate of compliance to operate legally.
Florida law prevents the city from banning short-term rentals or limiting their frequency or duration. The Wilton Manors Police Department and Community Development Services enforce compliance through registration requirements and code inspections.
All vacation rentals—defined as units in condominiums, cooperatives, or single-family through four-family dwellings that function as transient lodging—must hold a state license and register with the city. Operating or advertising a vacation rental without city registration is unlawful.
Exemptions include bed and breakfasts with conditional use approval and owner-occupied primary residences. Properties licensed by the state before June 1, 2016, with scheduled occupancy by that date and a filed registration application may operate without a current certificate of compliance, provided they comply with all city ordinances.
Residents can search the city's quarterly-updated vacation rental map on the Community Development Services Department website. To report a suspected unlicensed vacation rental, contact the code compliance unit at (954) 390-2157 or [email protected].
