The fight took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday, May 18, 2024. Usyk dominated the later rounds, nearly stopping Fury in the ninth. Fury started strong, utilizing his size and reach advantage in the early rounds.
Usyk is the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis held the title in 2000. With the win, Usyk retains his WBA, IBF, and WBO titles and gains the WBC title previously held by Fury. A rematch is expected, per contract terms.
