U.S. President Warns Iran Amid Regional Tensions
WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump stated Saturday that the United States has identified 52 Iranian sites as potential targets. He indicated that the U.S. military would strike these sites "very fast and very hard" if Iran attacks American personnel or assets. Trump conveyed this message through social media, noting that some targets hold significance for Iranian culture.
This declaration came after a Friday U.S. airstrike in Baghdad, Iraq, killed Iranian Maj. Gen. Qassem Soleimani, head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Quds Force. Following Soleimani's death, Iranian military officials, including Maj. Gen. Gholamali Abuhamzeh, issued statements indicating potential responses. Abuhamzeh specifically mentioned the possibility of attacking U.S. targets accessible to Iran, referencing 35 American targets in the region and the Strait of Hormuz.
Simultaneously, tensions persisted elsewhere in the Middle East. Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip launched rockets into southern Israel. In response, the Israeli military conducted airstrikes on facilities operated by Hamas. These actions occurred after an exchange of fire near the Gaza fence injured an Israeli soldier.
Further regional developments included reports from Kuwait, where social media users shared footage appearing to show an American military convoy. This prompted discussions among online commentators regarding U.S. troop movements and the potential for heightened military activity in the Gulf region.
