The results will influence the political landscape for the remainder of President Donald Trump's term. All 435 seats in the House of Representatives are up for election. Representatives serve two-year terms. Democrats currently hold the majority in the House. Thirty-five of the 100 seats in the Senate are also on the ballot. Senators serve six-year terms. Republicans presently control the Senate. In addition to congressional races, voters will elect governors in 36 states and three U.S. territories.
