US-Iran Islamabad Talks End Without Deal
Staff Writer
May 21, 2026
Delegations from the United States and Iran left Islamabad on April 12 without reaching an agreement after 21 hours of negotiations hosted by Pakistan.
Iran's nuclear program and control of the Strait of Hormuz remained unresolved. Iranian officials said they did not expect a deal from a single round of talks and indicated both sides would continue contact.
Hamas said it supports the negotiations, calling them a step toward ending the conflict. The group expressed hope that Pakistan's mediation could strengthen regional stability and unity among Arab and Islamic nations.
