U.S. Announces Full Economic Disengagement from Iran

WASHINGTON – The United States will disconnect all economic links with Iran, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced. Bessent stated that any country maintaining financial partnerships with Iran will also experience isolation.

Bessent described the impending U.S. financial actions as the most significant economic offensive ever directed at a single nation. He outlined a policy aimed at completely disengaging the U.S. economy from Iran's.

The Treasury Secretary further clarified that this policy extends beyond direct U.S. actions. He indicated that the U.S. would implement measures to isolate any nation that continues to conduct financial transactions with Iran.
