Undersheriff Ron Lendvay - Clay County Sheriff's Office
Undersheriff Ron Lendvay serves as second-in-command at the Clay County Sheriff's Office under Sheriff Michelle Cook, overseeing the agency's daily operations.
Lendvay joined CCSO after working as Director of Public Safety at JAXPORT, where he managed law enforcement services, security contracts, and emergency management. He ensured the port's compliance with federal maritime security mandates while coordinating with local, state, and federal agencies.
Before JAXPORT, Lendvay retired from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office in 2019 after 25 years of service. He held the rank of Director of Investigations and Homeland Security, managing investigative functions, specialized units, and multi-agency task forces. He also conducted county-wide critical infrastructure assessments and represented JSO on executive-level task forces and committees.
Lendvay began his law enforcement career as a patrol officer with the University of Florida Police Department in Gainesville, then joined JSO in 1994. He advanced through detective assignments and supervisory roles in patrol and investigations before reaching the ranks of sergeant, lieutenant, assistant chief, chief, and director.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the University of North Florida and a Master of Arts degree in Homeland Defense and Security from the U.S. Navy Postgraduate School's Center for Homeland Defense and Security. He also graduated from the Department of Homeland Security's Leadership Academy at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center.
