UAB Blazers Haul in Stellar 2026 Recruiting Class in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- UAB men's basketball head coach Andy Kennedy announced the latest addition to the Blazers' 2026 signing class on April 23, welcoming transfer forward Jeremy Elyzee from Southeastern Louisiana. The 6-foot-8 Elyzee, a product of Pembroke Pines Charter High School in Florida, becomes the fifth member of the class, joining high school recruits Jakobi Sharp and three-star standout Korie Corbett, plus junior college transfers Tim Holliday and Shah Hall.[1][2]
Corbett's signing was revealed earlier on April 15, marking him as the third commit and bringing a versatile skill set to Birmingham's growing hoops pipeline.[2] Sharp, another high school signee, bolsters the backcourt depth, while Holliday and Hall add proven JUCO production to a roster eyeing a deep Conference USA run. Kennedy's class arrives after UAB's strong 2024-25 campaign of 24-13 overall and 13-5 in league play, setting the stage for contention at home in Bartow Arena.[4]
These moves signal UAB's resurgence in Birmingham, a city with deep basketball roots from its high school powers to the Blazers' national stage appearances. Elyzee's transfer experience pairs with Corbett's three-star upside—honed in Alabama's competitive recruiting scene—to address frontcourt needs exposed last season's 76.2 points allowed per game in scoring defense.[1][2][4] Local fans packing Legacy Arena events can expect fireworks when the class debuts in the 2026-27 season.
