Two Arrested in New Smyrna Beach for DUI and Public Intoxication

New Smyrna Beach police arrested two people Saturday on charges of driving under the influence and public intoxication.

Officers stopped an adult female at Saxon Drive and Cedar Dunes Drive at 5:12 p.m. and arrested her on suspicion of DUI after she refused to submit to testing. Police transported her to the Volusia County Branch Jail.

At 7:33 p.m., officers took an adult male into protective custody at Flagler Avenue and North Pine Street due to intoxication and transported him to the same facility.
