Twins Defeat Mets, Extend Losing Streak to 13 Games

The Minnesota Twins secured a 7-3 victory over the New York Mets on Wednesday, marking the Mets' 13th consecutive loss. The Mets now hold a 15-28 record for the season.

Juan Soto returned to the Mets' lineup, starting as designated hitter after recovering from a right calf strain sustained on April 3. Soto recorded one hit in four at-bats, contributing a single in the fourth inning. He scored one run.

Twins pitcher Pablo López threw six innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out eight batters. Designated hitter Carlos Correa led the Twins offensively, hitting a two-run home run in the third inning. Second baseman Edouard Julien also contributed a solo home run in the fifth inning.

Mets starting pitcher Tylor Megill allowed five earned runs over 4.2 innings, surrendering two home runs. Francisco Lindor hit a solo home run for the Mets in the sixth inning, his fifth of the season. Pete Alonso also drove in a run with an RBI single in the third inning.

The Mets remain at the bottom of the National League East standings, 11.5 games behind the division leader.
