Trump Reasserts Greenland Interest as NATO Unveils Defense Spending

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has restated his interest in the United States purchasing Greenland, an autonomous territory of Denmark. His remarks occurred as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) announced new defense industry projects totaling billions of dollars.

NATO officials revealed plans for significant investments aimed at supporting Ukrainian defense efforts and bolstering member states' military capabilities. These projects include contracts for artillery ammunition, drones, and naval vessels, according to alliance statements.

Separately, Trump also declared that the United States would lift sanctions previously imposed on Turkey. The U.S. implemented these sanctions after Turkey acquired a Russian-made S-400 missile defense system.
