WASHINGTON – The Trump Administration introduced Foundry School on Thursday, September 3, a national program established to train entrepreneurs, engineers, technicians, and industrial leaders for the U.S. manufacturing sector. Vice President JD Vance is scheduled to headline the launch event. Foundry School operates as a project of Pax Silica, a Department of State initiative focused on securing global supply chains for future technologies. The administration projects American manufacturers will require approximately 3.8 million skilled workers by 2033 across industries including semiconductors, defense, and energy. Foundry School's stated purpose is to equip American workers with the skills necessary to fill these roles and build careers in critical industries. The launch event will take place at 8:20 a.m. at the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace. Speakers will include senior administration officials, university leaders, and industry executives. These collaborating institutions are Arizona State University, Georgia Tech, Ohio State University, Penn State, the University of Cincinnati, the University of Kansas, and Vanderbilt University. Across these eight campuses, the program will offer 17 sessions. Founders and CEOs from advanced manufacturing enterprises will teach these sessions, drawing participants from the United States and Pax Silica member countries, including the Republic of Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and India.
