Riverview residents are encouraged to participate in the annual "Riverview Clean-Up Day" scheduled for Saturday, April 20, 2026. This community-wide event aims to beautify public spaces, parks, and roadways, fostering a sense of civic pride and environmental stewardship.
Organized by the Riverview Parks and Recreation Department, the clean-up effort will focus on several key areas across town, including the scenic Alafia River banks and neighborhoods like Bloomingdale. Volunteers are asked to gather at Riverview Town Square at 9:00 AM, where they will receive assignments, safety instructions, and necessary supplies such such as gloves, trash bags, and reflective vests. Light refreshments will also be provided.
"This is a fantastic opportunity for neighbors to come together and make a tangible difference in our community," stated Martha Jenkins, Director of Parks and Recreation. "Every year, we see incredible dedication from our volunteers, and their efforts truly help keep Riverview looking its best."
Families, local organizations, and individual residents are all welcome to join. Participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. The clean-up is expected to conclude around 1:00 PM, followed by a small appreciation picnic for all volunteers at Willow Creek Park.
Those interested in volunteering are encouraged to register in advance by calling the Parks and Recreation Department at 555-1234 or by visiting the department's office at 100 Main Street during business hours. While pre-registration is not mandatory, it helps organizers ensure adequate supplies and assignments for all participants. Let's work together to make Riverview shine!
