Estero residents are encouraged to mark their calendars for several upcoming community events and important municipal updates this week.

The Estero Village Council is scheduled to hold its regular meeting on Monday, April 15th, at 9:30 AM at Village Hall, located at 9401 Corkscrew Palms Way. On the agenda are discussions regarding the proposed expansion of the Estero Parkway multi-use path and an update on the progress of the new Estero Community Park playground equipment installation. Residents are welcome to attend and provide public comment on non-agenda items.

For those looking to get involved, the Estero Public Library, situated at 9200 Corkscrew Road and a cornerstone of the village's cultural life, will host its monthly 'Friends of the Library' book sale this Saturday, April 20th, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. All proceeds from the sale directly benefit library programs and new acquisitions. Volunteers are still needed for setup on Friday afternoon; interested individuals can contact the library directly.

Local businesses are also making news. Estero River Outfitters, a long-standing fixture on US 41, announced a special 'Spring Paddle Fest' for Saturday, April 20th, offering discounted kayak and paddleboard rentals, along with free introductory lessons for beginners. This event aims to encourage more residents to explore the natural beauty of the Estero River, a cherished waterway winding through local preserves.

Finally, the Estero Fire Rescue Department reminds residents that the annual 'Fire Safety Awareness Day' will take place next Sunday, April 21st, at Station 41, 21500 Three Oaks Parkway, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The event will feature demonstrations, station tours, and opportunities to meet local firefighters. This is a family-friendly event designed to educate the community on fire prevention and safety measures.

Stay informed and engaged with what's happening in our community. More details on these events can be found on the respective organization's websites or by visiting Village Hall.
