The Estero Village Council is set to hold its next regular meeting on Monday, April 15, at 5:30 PM at the Village Hall, located at 9401 Corkscrew Palms Circle. On the agenda are discussions regarding the proposed expansion of the Estero Community Park's recreational facilities, a beloved local green space, and an update on the Corkscrew Road widening project. Residents are welcome to attend and provide public comment on agenda items.
Meanwhile, the Estero Historical Society is hosting its annual "Pioneer Days" exhibit opening this Saturday, April 20, at the Estero Historical Society Museum in the Estero Park. The exhibit will feature artifacts and photographs detailing the early settlement of Estero, including its Koreshan heritage. Doors open at 10:00 AM, and light refreshments will be served. This is a free event, offering a glimpse into the rich history of our village.
For those looking to get involved in local conservation efforts, the Estero Bay Buddies non-profit organization is organizing a community clean-up along the Estero River this Sunday, April 21, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Koreshan State Park boat ramp. Gloves and trash bags will be provided, and participants are encouraged to wear appropriate footwear and bring water bottles. This initiative aims to preserve the natural beauty of our waterways.
Finally, Estero High School's Wildcats baseball team will be playing their final home game of the season against the Fort Myers Green Wave on Friday, April 19, at 7:00 PM at the Estero High School baseball field. The community is invited to come out and support our local student-athletes as they close out their regular season.
