Texas A&M Bags Third 2027 Five-Star with Kingwood OT Kennedy Brown

National Desk
May 4, 2026
COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Texas A&M added elite trench talent to its surging 2027 recruiting class when five-star offensive tackle Kennedy Brown committed Sunday, becoming the program's third five-star pledge in the cycle. The 6-foot-4, 285-pound Kingwood High School junior, ESPN's No. 2 offensive tackle and No. 5 overall in the SC Next 300, picked the Aggies over finalists LSU, Florida and Tennessee after spring visits to College Station. Brown, entering his third year starting on Kingwood's offensive line north of Houston, bolsters A&M's in-state haul alongside fellow Texas offensive tackle commits Kaeden Scott (No. 137 overall) and four-star DeMarrion Johnson from Tyler Legacy.[1][6] Brown joins five-star defensive end Zyron Forstall (No. 17 overall) and five-star safety Kamarui Dorsey (No. 21 overall, top-ranked at his position per Rivals) to anchor A&M's star-studded class, which now holds 11 top-300 commitments — tied with Oklahoma for the national lead among FBS programs. Four-star quarterback Jayce Johnson from Lowndes High in Georgia, ranked No. 62 nationally and No. 5 among QBs by On3, committed earlier, rounding out early offensive firepower with wide receiver Hakim Frampton and defensive lineman Elijah Patmon. The Aggies rank second nationally in 2027 quarterback recruiting per 247Sports.[2][3][4][5] Under coach Mike Elko, Texas A&M's momentum mirrors its strong 2026 class, featuring five-star cornerback Brandon Arrington and edge rusher Bryce Perry-Wright. In-state stars like Waxahachie safety JayQuan Snell, the No. 1 at his position, highlight Texas dominance, with the Aggies third nationally per On3. Brown's pledge from Houston's Kingwood underscores A&M's pull in the talent-rich Lone Star State.[1][3][6]
