Terliczka Appointed to Punta Gorda Historic Preservation Board

Punta Gorda City Council has announced the appointment of local resident Maria Terliczka to the Historic Preservation Board. The appointment was made during the council's regular meeting on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, and is effective immediately.

Terliczka, a long-time resident known for her involvement in community initiatives, will serve a two-year term on the board. The Historic Preservation Board plays a crucial role in safeguarding Punta Gorda's unique architectural heritage, particularly in the cherished downtown district, and ensuring that new developments respect the city's historic character. This includes reviewing proposed changes to historic properties and advising the City Council on preservation matters.

Her appointment fills a vacancy on the seven-member board. Residents interested in learning more about the Historic Preservation Board's work or attending upcoming meetings can find information on the City of Punta Gorda's official website or by contacting the City Clerk's office at City Hall, located at 326 W. Marion Ave. in the heart of historic downtown.
