Tangled Up in Weird
First, to the sunshine state, where a homeowner was surprised to find an unusually large reptile lounging by their front porch. Local wildlife authorities were called, and the animal was safely relocated back to its natural habitat, a nearby swamp. The issue? It was wearing sunglasses.
Meanwhile, up north, a group of neighbors are locked in a bitter dispute with their homeowner's association. At issue: lawn ornaments. Specifically, a disagreement over whether a collection of garden gnomes constitutes an "unapproved alteration to property aesthetics." The HOA president has issued a cease-and-desist letter. The homeowner has threatened to unleash a flock of flamingos.
And finally, out west, a family called in pest control to deal with what they thought was a minor infestation of flying mammals. Turns out, the bats had built an elaborate condominium in the attic. A lengthy, expensive removal process ensued, and the family learned a valuable lesson about regularly inspecting unseen spaces in their home. The bats, on the other hand, have reportedly filed for adverse possession.
