Tamarac Home Fire: What We Know So Far
A fire at a Tamarac home left two people dead, according to WSVN, which reported the property was suspected of being used as an assisted living facility.
Tamarac Fire Rescue spokesperson Van Schoen said crews found one fatality at the scene and later learned a second person, who was gravely injured and taken to the hospital as a trauma alert, had died, according to WSVN. Officials said the fire had already been extinguished when investigators remained on scene for hours to continue their work.
Authorities said fire investigators are working with the State Fire Marshal’s Office to determine what caused the blaze, according to WSVN. No cause has been released, and officials have not announced any arrests or other enforcement action.
The response involved Tamarac Fire Rescue and fire investigators, and the fact that the scene remained under investigation for hours suggests the incident is being treated as a serious fatal fire with a detailed origin-and-cause review.
Dispatch records show a prior structure fire at this same address on June 16, 2026.
What comes next is an official determination of the fire’s cause and any additional confirmation about the home’s use and the condition of the victims before the blaze. Investigators with the State Fire Marshal’s Office are expected to remain involved until the inquiry is complete.
